Dive Equipment
Dive equipment is a broad term that covers all of the items that a diver needs to successfully scuba dive. It includes such items as air tanks, face masks, wet or dry suits, diving boots, ballast (both light and heavy ballast are used, depending on the dive), mouthpieces, snorkels, flippers, supply lines, regulator valves, the list can go on and on.
With this massive array of gear to choose from, it might seem kind of pointless to have a term like dive equipment to cover them. However, this was before the advent of the search engine. You see, while very small segments of people will look for a mask, or scuba tank, or supply line by name; many people will be interested in a more general term, and thus it will be searched more often than the more granular terms.
Thus, things like diving equipment, gear, and supplies have all received this internet boost, creating a use for a colloquially useless term. So if you go out into the world looking for it, you won’t get far. But if you check in with your search provider, the term will get much better results.
